Other AM Projects

The AM project is developing prototypes to investigate new types of astronomy-specific visualization, interaction, and rendering techniques. These new ideas will be incorporated back into future 3D Slicer releases.

AMView Prototype

We use the AMView Prototype application to develop features that are intended to be later included into the more complex 3D Slicer package. This in particular includes:

• implementation of FITS world coordinate system (WCS) parameters;
• surface and volume rendering;
• astronomy-specific quantification tools.

This tool is presently not available to the public.

DendroVis

DendroVis is an exploratory prototype application designed to explore hierarchical sementations of objects that are called "dendrograms". It is written in Java3D.
